Christmas for Foster Kids

In 2013 we handed out 47 cards (shaped like a tree) with their names and wish list. Before I could sit down, another eight names were wanted. Most of the presents were at our meeting the next week and the rest I went to the members homes or businesses to gather. Yes, the children get the presents. However, to visit with these ‘gift-givers’ and see the joy they feel for sharing, it is simply wonderful.

“Providing the magic of Christmas and Santa Claus to children who have in the past been missed and forgotten. A beautiful gift of joy and goodwill toward our County’s most vulnerable, beautiful kids touched by foster care at no fault of their own.”

Cherie Schroeder, Instructional Specialist/Program Director, Foster and Kinship Care Education.
